HEALTHTREE UGANDA QUIZ NIGHT

7.00 PM, SATURDAY 25 JANUARY, 2025

HealthTree Uganda’s popular annual quiz night returns on 25 January at Chesham Town Hall, HP5 1EP. Tickets remain at £15 which includes a meal (please bring your own drinks). Please contact us to book your tickets or to reserve a table for your team.

When HealthTree Uganda visited Kisoro in SW Uganda in August 2024 they spent time with the Disability Rehab Centre at Potter’s Village, one of the projects that we regularly support. It was inspiring to see the work being done there. One of the children they met was Elizabeth, aged 13, pictured here. Despite the problems she faces, Elizabeth knows she is luckier than many physically impaired children in the region – for in 2024 she received her first wheelchair. Before this, her mum had to carry her everywhere, so she didn’t get out much. Now, however, Elizabeth’s life has changed dramatically: she is no longer stuck indoors, she can go out shopping, meet friends and have a life. And of course the strain on her mum is eased too.

A wheelchair costs about £200, and this year the proceeds from the quiz night will go to the Disability Rehab Centre to enable them to buy wheelchairs for more children like Elizabeth. So why not come along on 25 January, have a great time, and know that you’re also helping to transform the lives of physically  impaired children in Uganda!

Elizabeth is sitting in her new wheelchair, which includes a tray in front of her on which she's placed a toy. She is delighted with it, and has a broad smile!
